Susan Caruso-Green
President
Susan Caruso-Green has been active in the fields of corporate philanthropy
and non-profit organization management and fund raising for over 25
years. Ms. Green's career has focused on increasing resources for social
service and education organizations in the New York metropolitan area.
The primary focus of her work is on proposal writing, and improving
the written materials that present an organization to the public. Often,
in an effort to create a winning proposal writing campaign, Ms. Green
assists clients with program design, developing outcome measures, diversifying
income streams and helping Boards of Directors to understand their role
in fund raising. Before founding the Resource Development Network, she
was the Contributions Coordinator for Citicorp's Consumer Bank worldwide.
Ms. Green holds an MBA in Marketing from New York University. She has
served on the Board of Directors of the Arts and Business Council and
the Corporate Advisory Board of the United Way of Tri-State. She is
the Treasurer of Project Home of Cranford and the Cranford Fund For
Educational Excellence, a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals
and a member of the Steering Committee of the Union County Chamber of
Commerce's "Hotlinc" small business group.
Matt Isaac
Senior Consultant
Matt Isaac has more than 10 years experience in non-profit management,
grant writing and research, strategic planning, program design and development,
and arts programming and project management.
He is founder of Perimeter Media + Culture
Projects, a non-profit cultural organization that presents independent
film, video and cultural festivals and exhibitions. He has been the
Film Curator at Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center and the Education
Director and a Development Officer at CEPA Gallery in Buffalo, NY. Mr.
Isaac has been the Grants Officer and Development Director at Dance
Theater Workshop and the National Performance Network, directed exhibitions
and projects at Artists Space and Electronic Arts Intermix, and has
been a development and grant-writing consultant for human and social
services organizations and agencies, arts and cultural organizations,
and individual artists and filmmakers.
Mr. Isaac earned a BA in Media Studies and
Art from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of
Arts in Media Studies from the New School. He has been a jury member
for the New York Expo of Short Film and Video and the School of Visual
Arts' New York Digital Salon, and a presenter at the Margaret Mead Film
and Video Festival.
Lori Fabian
Senior Consultant
Lori Fabian, President, Fabian Consulting, Inc. has had over twenty
years of experience working with non-profit organizations. An independent
consultant since 1994, Ms. Fabian has recently moved her practice to
central New Jersey from Greater New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf
Coast. A skilled writer, presenter, program evaluator, and project manager,
her experience includes organizations involved in education, human services,
religion, the arts, science and nature, and strengthening the nonprofit
sector.
Her twelve years as a professional grants
manager, writer and counselor have helped nonprofit organizations raise
at least $14 million in private and corporate support. She has also
provided grants research, training, and counsel to dozens of agencies
since that time. For four years, Ms. Fabian was Foundation Funding Coordinator
for United Way of Los Angeles, one of the largest United Ways in the
nation, where she developed its first organized Foundation Development
program. Ms Fabian has also worked on the other side of the proposal
process, having been a grant reader for the Federal AmeriCorps program
in California. In addition, she has prepared proposals and applications
for governmental funding sources such as the National Endowment for
the Humanities.
A qualified trainer and consultant in United
Way of America's program evaluation system, Measuring Program Outcomes:
A Practical Approach, Ms. Fabian has provided training and consultation
in outcome measurement for the American Humanics Institute, the Center
for Nonprofit Resources in New Orleans, the Mississippi United Ways
Association, United Way of South Mississippi, the Mississippi Center
for Nonprofits, and the Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service.
She has also provided training and seminars in grantsmanship and nonprofit
management to agencies across Louisiana and Mississippi.
Lisa Michener
Senior Consultant
Lisa Michener has over ten years of experience in development, working
both directly for nonprofits and as a consultant. She currently specializes
in proposal writing and prospect research, working primarily with social
service and arts organizations, including the New York Council On Adoptable
Children, Americans for the Arts, the Public Service Scholar Program
at Hunter College, and the Americas Society. Ms. Michener's experience
also includes writing and managing newsletter production, organizing
special events, and developing marketing/public awareness campaigns.
Ms. Michener holds an MS in Urban Affairs from Hunter College, CUNY.
Beth Grant
Associate
Beth Grant has been active in the non-profit
field for three years. She began her experience with proposal writing
for Project Home of Cranford, Inc. As a writer, she specializes in proposal
writing, newsletters and press releases for non-profit organizations.
Ms. Grant received a BA in French from Upsala College, with a minor
in Computer Science. Ms. Grant currently sits on the Board of Project
Home and chairs the Proposal Writing Committee.
