Keen's Steak House
72 West 36th St.
New York, NY 10018
Cross Street: Between 5th and 6th Avenues, closer to 6th Ave.
(212) 947-3636
Cuisine: American, Steak, Seafood, Salads.
Brief Description: Keens Steakhouse is a classic New York restaurant founded in 1885. I like this restaurant because the food is good, the atmosphere is quiet and businesslike, the service is good and you can get a private table so you can talk business over lunch. Steak is just one choice on an ample menu and there is a full bar if you like to drink. It is not too expensive and I have never been disturbed by smoking, like you can be in some restaurants. It is conveniently located near Penn Station which is good for me since that is the main way I come into New York City these days from New Jersey where I live. A reservation is recommended and if you arrive just before noon (they open at 11:45 a.m.) you will have your pick of the tables. After 12:30, the restaurant gets quite full with the local business lunch crowd, so I always plan to get there early.
Hours: Monday - Friday: 11:45am - 10:00pm; Saturday: 5:00pm - 10:00pm; Sunday: 5:00pm - 8:00pm, only if there is an evening event at Madison Square Garden. Bon appetit!!

Café Sabarsky
1048 Fifth Ave at 86 St.
New York
212-288-0665.
Cuisine: Viennese-style
Brief Description: For an elegant breakfast lunch or brunch, try Ronald Lauder's Neue Galerie New York. It is an elegant, Viennese-style kaffeehaus with reproductions of Josef Hoffmann sconces, Adolf Loos bent-wood hcairs, and Otto Wagner fabrics. Try tortes (Sacher and Linzer), Bavarian ham for breakfast, cod strudel for lunch -GREAT ATMOSPHERE!!! not inexpensive but coffee and croissant at 11 am or coffee and a pastry in the p.m. shouldn't break the bank. Open 11 am to 6 p.m. Closed Tuesdays.
PS: A number of other museums have nice places to meet for lunch or a snack, notably the Morgan Library and the Asia Society.

When I was Executive Director of a growing nonprofit organization in New York, FMA provided outsourced accounting services for us, as well as helped me manage the budget, prepare for the annual audit, and improve our financial reporting systems. They also helped with cash flow management during difficult times. I would highly recommend them to any nonprofit looking for help in improving its financial systems.
